Editorial & Medical Review Policy
How SENSE Health writes, checks, sources and corrects the health information on this website.

Why this page exists
Families read our articles while making difficult decisions about a parent, partner or child. This page explains how we write and check that information, so you can judge how far to rely on it.
Who writes our content
Our articles are written by the SENSE Health team. Every health article is checked by a clinician before it is published, as described below.
Medical review
- Every article about a condition or treatment is reviewed by a qualified clinician on our team before it is published.
- Each article shows the reviewer's name and the date of the most recent review.
- We review articles at least once every 12 months, and sooner when guidelines or important evidence change.
- The reviewer checks that the medical content is accurate, that figures match their sources, and that the article is clear about what is and is not known.
How we choose sources
We base medical statements on, in order of preference:
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses, such as Cochrane reviews
- Clinical guidelines, such as those from the WHO, NICE, the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association and the Indian Council of Medical Research
- Randomised controlled trials and other peer-reviewed research
- Official public sources, such as the US FDA, the National Institute on Aging, CGHS and IRDAI
Sources are linked in the article next to the statement they support. When the evidence is weak, mixed or limited to small studies, we say so.
Our own results and claims
- We do not promise recovery or guarantee results. Every patient's recovery is different and depends on the condition, its severity and how early rehabilitation starts.
- When we publish figures about SENSE Health itself, such as patient numbers, outcomes or ratings, we state how they were measured and the period they cover, and the number of patients where available, or we do not publish them.
- Figures from equipment makers or partner organisations are attributed to them and linked to their source.
- We do not make comparisons with other hospitals or centres that we cannot verify.
Patient stories and reviews
- We publish a patient's story, photo or video only with their written consent, or the consent of their family when the patient cannot give it.
- We use first names unless the patient asks us to use their full name.
- Quotes are the patient's or family's own words. We do not edit videos or quotes in a way that changes their meaning.
- A patient can ask us to remove their story at any time, and we will remove it from our website.
- Reviews shown on our website come from public review platforms, with the reviewer's name and the date of the review.
Independence and advertising
SENSE Health is a hospital, and our articles describe the services we offer. We do not publish paid content or sponsored articles, and equipment manufacturers do not pay for, write or approve our content.
Updates and corrections
- Every article shows when it was last updated.
- If you find an error, email listen@sensehealth.co.in with the page address and what you believe is wrong.
- We review every report within 7 days. If a correction changes medical meaning, we note the correction and its date on the article.
Not a substitute for medical advice
Our articles are general information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan for any individual. Talk to your doctor about your own situation.
If you think someone is having a stroke, call 108 immediately. Watch for face drooping, arm weakness and speech difficulty. Do not wait to read an article or book a consultation.
